Dr. Singh is the Director of the Liver and Pancreas Center, GI Surgical Oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. Prior to moving to the JWCI, Dr. Singh was a faculty surgeon in the Department of Surgery at USC University Hospital. He is certified by the American Boards of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
As a skilled and accomplished surgeon, Dr. Singh has extensive experience in hepatobiliary & pancreatic diseases and other gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical studies include published results of complex resections for metastatic liver cancers, vascular reconstructions following difficult pancreatic surgery for pancreatic cancer, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Currently, Dr. Singh is spearheading JWCI’s clinical program for minimally invasive surgery to encompass robotic assisted surgery.
In addition to a large gastrointestinal clinical practice, Dr. Singh has a strong commitment to academic surgery and translational research. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California; a mentor to surgeons training in JWCI’s surgical oncology fellowship program; and is actively developing cutting-edge protocols for translational research. His research interests include gene therapy strategies for cancer, mechanisms of hepatic gene transfer and developing technical innovations in hepatic and pancreatic surgery. His work is very well published nationally and internationally with numerous publications in prestigious journals. Dr. Singh is a member of some of the elite surgical societies and has served as invited speaker/chair at several international conferences.
