The John Wayne Cancer Institute is fortunate to have several amazing support groups, dedicated to raising funds and providing support in the fight against cancer. Over the years, these support groups have been vital to JWCI’s ongoing cancer research. If you are interested in joining one of the support groups, please contact each one directly at the numbers listed below.
John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary (JWCIA)
The John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary is a membership organization that provides major support for the Institute. Established in 1982 by Sandy Cohen and Noreen Nelson, the Auxiliary has more than 800 members and has raised more than $15 million in support for JWCI’s cancer research projects, equipment, and surgical oncology fellowships.
The JWCIA produces the annual Odyssey Ball gala, and hosts educational evenings, membership luncheons, and other special fundraising and awareness events throughout the year. The Auxiliary has an active Board of Directors and enthusiastic members who all share a goal to defeat cancer.

Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies (ABCs)
The Associates for Breast & Prostate Cancer Studies (ABCs) supports progressive and innovative breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. The ABCs was founded in 1990 and has more than 200 members in the Los Angeles area.
Fundraising events include a special "Women of Achievement" luncheon and an annual gala. The ABCs have raised more than $6 million for breast, prostate, and basic cancer research at John Wayne Cancer Institute. The current President of the ABCs is Gloria Gebbia. Partners in Progress
The Partners in Progress are comprised of young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s, whose primary goal is to provide cancer awareness to all age groups. The Partners in Progress support all JWCI fundraising events in Southern California by volunteering their time and energy, as well as raising funds.
